There are many ways to finish plastercraft and ceramic statues - acrylic paints, dry brushing, gloss spray, gold leafing, etc. What are some of the more unusual techniques you have heard of? Glue hairs? Glow in the dark paints? Animal pheremones?

I once watched a glass blower place a statue inside of a glass work, so the outside was glass, really unique.

try antiquing a statue. spray black paint covering the whole thing, then take a wet rag and wipe the black away. as your wiping, just the crevises...(i cant spell) nooks and crannys will be black.
