Hi all,

My name is Margie and I'm interested in trying polymer clay. Could
someone point me in the right direction for getting started? What would
be a good book for someone doing it for the first time? Sort of like a
'Polymer Clay for Dummies"? ;-0 I think I'd mostly be interested in
making beads. Also, does anyone know of any videos showing step by step
techniques? And where can I get them?

Hi Margie!
There are a lot of places online that give great information to beginners.
My favorite is www.glassattic.com where you will find information on getting
started all the way up to techniques the pros use. Sarajane has a great page
of links to get you started too. http://www.polyclay.com/ Her pages will be
great inspiration to you too.
There is a polymer clay magazine online, and free! But alas, I dont know the
url for that one. It has projects and tips every month and links to past
issues you might find helpful.

It sounds like you might really like Syndee Holt's book Polymer Clay For The
First Time. (think I got the title right, look for her name if I didn't!)

Good morning all,

I've checked out the sites you all have given me..WOW...a lot to learn
but it sure looks like fun!! I'm going to read a little more before I
go out and buy some supplies. This looks like it could be very
addictive.....like quilting. (You DON'T want to see my sewing room!!)
